AVÉ (Australian Vocal Ensemble) brings together four of the country’s leading singers in a performance that places Australian composers and writers at its heart. In an intimate chamber setting, AVÉ presents newly commissioned works shaped by the words of Tim Winton AO.

The program features compositions by Emma Jayakumar, Ruben Davies, Lachlan Skipworth, Aaron Wyatt, Andrew O’Connor and Katie Noonan. With vocal works that respond to Winton’s unmistakable language in music that feels expansive and unmistakably Australian, the ensemble will also pay tribute to the golden age of vocal polyphony with AVÉ’s interpretations of music by Bach and Tomás Luis de Victoria.

Featuring a special appearance by local singers who took part in the workshop the evening prior, this performance celebrates the voices of the region alongside some of Australia’s most distinctive new music.
